Former News of the World staff may not need to rely on their income protection cover for too long, as News International (NI) has confirmed many of them will be given jobs elsewhere.
The Sunday newspaper's final edition was published last week after it became embroiled in the phone hacking scandal, causing uncertainty for a number of staff members.
However, 30 editorial positions have now been found by NI for redundant News of the World staff, with further efforts set to be made by the firm in the days to come.
A statement from the organisation reads: "Starting next week, NI human resource managers will meet with each of the affected News of the World staff with a view to placing them in jobs."
The company added: "NI can today announce that it will offer employment opportunities to the vast majority of staff."
The Fabulous glossy magazine which used to come with copies of the News of the World will also continue to be printed, NI recently disclosed.
